Target Group has appointed Fiona Peel as product manager, bringing more than 20 years of financial services experience to its product development team.

Peel (pictured) joins the software and business process outsourcing provider after 14 years at Coutts, where she held senior positions spanning mortgage operations, business transformation and customer experience.

Her appointment will support the development of Target Group’s products and services across payments, servicing and collections, with a particular emphasis on improving operational efficiency and bringing greater consistency to its offering for financial institutions.

Peel began her career as a mortgage adviser before moving into leadership roles at HSBC and NatWest. She subsequently joined Coutts as continuous improvement manager, working across operational teams to improve capacity and customer experience.

She later became head of mortgage operations at the private bank before taking on her most recent position as client journey manager, overseeing changes to financial planning and investment processes.

At Target Group, she will work across the business to develop its product proposition and help financial services clients identify opportunities to improve their operations through technology and outsourcing.

The company, which has operated in financial services for almost five decades, provides software and outsourced administration services to banks, lenders and insurers. Its fintech platform currently manages more than £21 billion of assets.

Commenting on her appointment, Peel said: “After 14 fantastic years with Coutts, I’m really excited to join Target and work on products and solutions that have a tangible impact on people’s everyday lives.

“Not only is the proposition really impressive, but the team behind it are experts at what they do. Using my experience in operations within credit and banking, I want to work with this brilliant team to develop our product offering and really demonstrate what we can offer to financial institutions.”

She added: “I’m really grateful for the warm welcome I have received. The people at Target are amazing, there’s so much ambition and a willingness to make a real difference for our clients and their customers.

“I want to make sure that comes across in everything we do and in the products and solutions we provide.”

Katie Pender, chief operating officer at Target Group, said: “Fiona brings a wealth of experience across product, operational change and client journeys, as well as a valuable perspective from having worked within major financial institutions.

“She understands first-hand the challenges our clients are facing and what they expect from technology and outsourcing partners.”

Pender added: “That insight will be particularly valuable as we continue to strengthen our product proposition, deliver our growth ambitions and ensure we are delivering solutions that genuinely meet the needs of the market.

“We’re delighted to have Fiona on board and I look forward to working with her.”
