Royal London has launched an AI-powered tool designed to help employees and managers access information about menopause and prepare for conversations about health and workplace support.
The new service, called Menopal+, offers colleagues a private way to explore menopause-related information, including symptoms, workplace adjustments and sources of further assistance.
Developed internally by a member of Royal London’s existing menopause support community, the tool has been tested with the company’s Menopause Champions and operates within its responsible AI governance framework.
Menopal+ is intended to complement rather than replace the insurer’s existing support arrangements, which include a peer network, monthly discussion forum and trained menopause champions.
It is available to employees experiencing symptoms, those beginning to notice changes to their health and colleagues or managers seeking to support others. Family members can also benefit from the information it provides.
The tool does not provide medical advice. Instead, it offers practical guidance and signposting to appropriate sources of support, including healthcare professionals. Employees can also use it to organise information ahead of a medical appointment, such as preparing a symptom tracker to discuss with their GP.
Claire Williams, head of organisational effectiveness at Royal London, said: “Menopal+ shows what can happen when colleagues are empowered to turn their ideas and skills into practical support for others.
“Blending AI with trusted information and peer networks gives people a place to explore what they may be experiencing and organise their thoughts before taking the next step.
“The tool is not intended to replace human conversations. It can help someone feel better prepared to speak to a colleague, people leader, menopause champion or healthcare professional, while keeping those important human connections at the heart of our support.”
The launch forms part of Royal London’s broader programme of workplace inclusion and women’s health initiatives, combining digital resources with peer support and practical workplace assistance.
Its existing Menopals community has grown to nearly 400 members, providing opportunities for informal discussion, educational activities and access to internal and external resources.
