Foundation recruits former Metro Bank BDM to cover eastern region

Foundation has appointed Foz Ahmad as regional account manager for the East, bringing 12 years of mortgage industry experience to its intermediary sales team.

Ahmad (pictured) joins the specialist lender from Metro Bank, where he spent eight years, predominantly in business development roles.

He began his career as a mortgage adviser at Countrywide before moving to Santander and subsequently TSB. His experience spans both mortgage advice and lender business development.

In his new role, Ahmad will work with brokers across the East, focusing on specialist residential and buy-to-let mortgage cases involving borrowers who fall outside mainstream lending criteria.

Foundation said the appointment forms part of its efforts to develop intermediary relationships and provide support on cases requiring more individual underwriting assessments.

Grant Hendry, director of sales at Foundation, said: “Foz brings a valuable combination of experience from both sides of the adviser-BDM relationship.

“Having worked as an adviser himself, he understands the challenges brokers face when placing more complex cases and the importance of having a lender who can provide broad products, flexible underwriting and practical support.

“His experience will be a real asset as we continue to build strong relationships with brokers across the East.

“We want intermediaries to feel confident bringing us cases that need a more individual approach, and Foz will play an important role in helping them understand how Foundation can support their clients across residential and buy-to-let.”

Ahmad said: “Having worked as both an adviser and a BDM, I understand the importance of having a lender who takes the time to understand a case and work with the broker to find a solution.

“I enjoy getting into the detail of each enquiry, particularly where a client’s circumstances don’t fit standard lending criteria. I’m looking forward to meeting brokers across the East, building strong relationships and helping them make mortgages happen for their clients.”
