BetterHome Group UK has appointed Martin Tullett as chief financial officer, bringing in a senior finance executive with extensive experience of the mortgage intermediary market.
Tullett (pictured) joins from Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), where he spent seven and a half years and most recently held the position of group finance director.
His appointment comes as BetterHome Group UK looks to develop its UK operations, with Tullett taking responsibility for the finance function and supporting the group’s longer-term growth strategy.
He has nearly 20 years of experience in finance, including senior roles covering mergers and acquisitions, commercial performance and business transformation.
A qualified chartered accountant, Tullett began his career at EY before joining Experian, where he spent six years in commercially focused finance positions.
He subsequently moved to MAB, holding several senior finance roles and helping to develop the group’s financial operations as the business expanded.
His experience includes working within two listed businesses, alongside more than seven years specialising in the UK mortgage intermediary sector.
SUPPORTING UK EXPANSION
Rudi Botha, group chief executive officer of BetterHome Group, said Tullett’s background would be important as the business develops its UK presence.
He said: “Martin brings an excellent combination of financial expertise, commercial judgement and direct experience of the UK mortgage intermediary market.
“His understanding of what it takes to support and scale a growing business, together with his experience of operating within listed organisations, will be extremely valuable as we continue to develop BetterHome Group UK.
“Just as importantly, Martin brings an entrepreneurial spirit, great energy and a collaborative approach that align strongly with our culture.
“He shares our belief that people and strong teams are at the heart of a successful business, and I’m confident he will make a valuable contribution to our leadership team.
“As our UK business grows, having the right leadership, financial discipline and capabilities in place will be critical to delivering our ambitions.
“Martin’s experience of business transformation, acquisitions and building strong finance teams will be an important asset as we continue to build a successful and sustainable business for the benefit of our people, partner firms and customers.”
Tullett said his experience at MAB had given him an understanding of the commercial and operational requirements of businesses operating in the intermediary market.
He said: “Having spent the past seven and a half years working in the mortgage intermediary sector, I understand both the opportunities within the market and the importance of building a strong, commercially focused business that can support its partners over the long term.
“I’m looking forward to working with Rudi and the wider team, bringing my experience to help build on the momentum already established, further strengthen our capabilities and contribute to the Group’s continued success.”
