Landbay has appointed Daniel Bell as business development manager for North Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland, extending its intermediary sales coverage across the regions.
Bell (pictured) joins the specialist buy-to-let lender from Newsource Commercial Finance, where he spent more than 13 years, most recently as head of broker relations.
He will report to Rob Stanton, sales and distribution director at Landbay, and will work with brokers and advisory firms across his territory, providing support on the lender’s Premier, Core, Specialist and Product Transfer ranges.
During his time at Harrogate-based Newsource, Bell developed the firm’s intermediary network from its inception to more than 100 brokers, contributing to its growth ahead of its sale to the Leonard Curtis Group.
Before taking responsibility for broker relations, he spent almost five years as a case and account manager, handling transactions involving buy-to-let, houses in multiple occupation, multi-unit freehold blocks, refurbishment, development and commercial property finance.
FURTHER INVESTMENT IN SALES SUPPORT
The appointment follows Landbay’s establishment of a telephone sales team in July, headed by telephone sales manager Jon Braddick.
That team was introduced to provide additional assistance to brokers and the lender’s field-based business development managers, particularly around communication, pipeline management and ongoing case support.
Stanton says Bell’s combination of case management experience and intermediary relationship development will be valuable to the lender’s regional operations.
He says: “Daniel brings a considerable amount of experience to Landbay, having spent more than 13 years working across specialist property finance and building strong relationships with brokers.
“He has worked on a wide variety of property cases while his progression from case management into leading broker relations means he understands both the detail involved in getting cases through and the support advisers need.”
Stanton adds: “His appointment also continues the investment we have been making in our sales operation, including the launch of our Telephone Sales Team earlier this year, and gives us further capacity to support brokers across North Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland.”
Bell says: “I’ve spent my career working closely with brokers and helping them find solutions across a broad range of property finance cases, so I’m looking forward to bringing that experience to Landbay and getting out to meet advisers in my regions.
“Having worked both on individual cases and in broker relations, I know how important it is for advisers to have a BDM who understands their business, is available when they need support and can help them find the right solution for their landlord clients.”
