WIS Mortgages sets out five-year adviser growth strategy

Published on

WIS Mortgages has announced a five-year growth plan centred on expanding its adviser community and reducing the administrative burden on brokers.

The directly authorised firm intends to develop a wider range of support services for its self-employed advisers, combining artificial intelligence, mortgage administration, marketing, lead generation and business development.

The strategy builds on WIS’s existing model, which also gives advisers access to accounting and tax expertise through the wider WIS Group, alongside conveyancing support.

Technology will play a central role, including the firm’s recently introduced Monicio mortgage CRM and tools developed through Mortgage AI Toolkit. These are designed to assist with document reviews, information gathering, criteria research and case management.

WIS will continue to provide human administrative support for tasks such as lender liaison, chasing solicitors and progressing mortgage applications.

Ifthikar Mohamed, director of WIS Mortgages, said: “AI is incredibly important, but AI is not the entire answer.

“There will always be situations where somebody needs to pick up the phone, speak to a lender, contact a solicitor, speak to a BDM or resolve something complicated.”

The firm says its growth plans will focus not only on recruiting advisers but also on improving their productivity and helping them develop their own businesses.

Mohamed added: “Our ambition is not simply to say we have hundreds of advisers.

“We want to be able to say that advisers who join WIS are building stronger, more valuable businesses because they have the right infrastructure around them.”
