The Yorkshire to expand digital staff numbers

Published on

The Yorkshire Building Society is to recruit 35 new technology specialists as part of its ongoing investment in digital capabilities.

The Society is looking for IT engineering and leadership roles as it continues its digital investment programme to help improve customer service and help increase operational efficiency.

Recent IT projects for the Society include launching a new savings app for customers, which it developed with Leeds-based technology house Infinity Works.

Rebecca Fitzgerald, senior technology delivery manager at the Yorkshire Building Society said: “It’s a really exciting time to work for Yorkshire Building Society. As an engineering house located in one of the UK’s FinTech hubs, with a great engineering environment, managing our home-grown technology, renovating and re-architecting as we adopt digital advancement, with the flexibility to work with external experts on specialist projects.

“Our IT department ranges from colleagues who began their roles as apprentices in the past few years to professionals who have worked with us for more than 30 years. We have a huge variety of different roles and projects, so there’s something for every IT professional, regardless of experience.

“Our people are our greatest assets and we are focused on nurturing, developing and investing in our colleagues so they can provide real help to our customers. We offer flexible working, including a combination of office and work-from-home; a generous holiday allowance and family leave; competitive salaries and an annual bonus scheme; flexible benefits for colleagues to choose benefits personalised to them; as well as coaching, training and development. As a large and ambitious organisation, we’re big enough to offer IT professionals a challenge and compact enough for them to make a real impact. There are many paths open to colleagues as well as the support available to help people progress their career in the way they choose.”
