LMS appoints Ian Robinson as permanent chief executive

LMS has appointed Ian Robinson as its permanent chief executive, four months after he took over the role on an interim basis following the departure of Nick Chadbourne.

Robinson (pictured), who has spent more than 20 years with the conveyancing services provider, was confirmed in the position by the company’s board on 7 October following a recruitment process that included an external search.

He has been with LMS since 2006, when he joined from Santander, formerly Abbey National, and is the company’s longest-serving director.

Before becoming interim chief executive in June, Robinson was chief operating officer, overseeing the recruitment, management and operational performance of law firms working with the business.

His responsibilities also included leading LMS’s general conveyancing operations, which support more than 50 lenders, and developing relationships between lenders and conveyancing firms.

Nick Hale, chief executive of Movera and an LMS shareholder, said the board had been unanimous in its decision to make the appointment permanent.

He said: “Ian was the standout candidate following a thorough selection process, including an extensive external search. He has served LMS brilliantly for the past 20 years and since stepping up as interim CEO, he has demonstrated strong leadership, ensuring the business continues to deliver great outcomes for its partners and customers, and with a clear vision for the future.”

FOCUS ON CONVEYANCING TECHNOLOGY

Robinson’s appointment comes as LMS continues to develop its technology and services aimed at improving the efficiency and security of property transactions.

These include Panel Link, Remortgage, Select and Confirmly, alongside the National Property Transaction Network (NPTN), which is intended to improve how different parties involved in property transactions work together.

Robinson said the company’s priorities will remain unchanged following his permanent appointment.

He added: “While my role is now permanent, our focus at LMS remains the same. We have a solid business, a clear direction and plenty of opportunity ahead of us.

“We continue to make strong progress with Panel Link, Remortgage, Select, and Confirmly, which are all designed to make the home-buying and selling journey more secure and faster. NPTN, the National Property Transaction Network, is delivering a step-change in how property transactions are conducted in the UK across all stakeholders.

“I look forward to continuing to work with colleagues across LMS as we build on the progress we’ve made and support our customers and partners.”
