L&G has extended its Adviser Academy webinar programme to help financial advisers address a wider range of client needs, including retirement income, inheritance tax planning and later life lending.
The expanded CPD-accredited programme builds on the provider’s existing mortgage and protection training, bringing together technical guidance and practical skills intended to help advisers consider different aspects of clients’ financial circumstances.
New areas covered include annuities, wealth transfer, estate planning and business protection, reflecting the connections between protection, retirement provision and property wealth.
The webinar series examines how advisers can help clients establish sustainable retirement incomes, understand forthcoming inheritance tax changes and assess the potential role of fixed-term annuities.
It also considers how property wealth can be used to support retirement income, gifting and estate planning, alongside more specialist mortgage subjects such as lending against properties constructed using modern methods of construction.
L&G said the broader curriculum was intended to help advisers develop their technical knowledge while improving their ability to discuss interconnected financial planning issues with clients.
CONNECTING FINANCIAL PLANNING DECISIONS
James Shattock, managing director of protection and retail retirement at L&G, says: “Financial resilience is built over a lifetime, with decisions about protecting income, planning for retirement and using property wealth often being interconnected in shaping people’s long-term financial security.
“Advisers are essential in helping clients navigate those decisions and achieve better outcomes.
“That’s why we have created a more connected learning experience, equipping advisers with the tools they need to support clients across their financial journeys and help them reach their individual goals.”
The expanded programme is available through L&G’s Adviser Academy.
