Skipton Group has appointed Caroline Dale as its new group chief internal auditor, with effect from January 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
Dale (pictured) joins the group from Leeds Building Society, where she served as chief internal auditor, and has previously held roles at KPMG.
She will report to the Board Audit Committee chair, Iain Cummings, and will lead the group’s internal audit function, providing independent assurance across its businesses.
Skipton Group said Dale would play a key role in ensuring robust controls and oversight to support the organisation’s long-term growth and the delivery of positive outcomes for members and customers.
David Meechie will continue as interim group chief internal auditor until Dale joins the business and will remain with the organisation until February 2027 to support the transition.
Stuart Haire, chief executive of Skipton Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Caroline to Skipton Group. She brings deep experience in financial services audit and a strong track record of leadership, regulatory engagement and building effective, high-performing teams.
“Her expertise will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our governance, enhance our control environment and support the Group’s long-term, sustainable growth for the benefit of our members and customers.
“I’d also like to thank David Meechie for his leadership as interim group chief internal auditor and for his ongoing support through the transition.”
Dale said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Skipton Group and look forward to working with colleagues across the business.
“Skipton has a compelling reputation for doing the right thing for its members, and I’m excited to play a role in supporting the Group’s continued success by strengthening assurance, insight and collaboration across the organisation.”
