Nottingham Building Society has announced the appointment of Maxine Davenport to its leadership team, as she joins as head of underwriting.

Davenport has over 20 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, product lifecycle management and operational risk environments.

The mutual said her extensive background in specialist residential underwriting, credit risk governance, financial crime, and internal audit would be key as it continues to expand its mortgage proposition.

Most recently serving as product & business manager at Aldermore Bank, Davenport has held various leadership positions within Aldermore, including head of underwriting, senior operations manager, senior internal auditor and credit quality assurance. Prior to her time at Aldermore, Davenport worked in underwriting at the Cooperative Bank.

Praven Subbramoney, chief lending officer at Nottingham Building Society, said: “Maxine’s skills and experience will be of great value to us as we focus on transforming our mortgage offer, finding innovative ways to support under-served segments of the market and helping as many people as possible achieve their homeownership ambitions.

“I’m thrilled to welcome her to the team and look forward to working together closely at this exciting time for the society.”

Davenport added: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Nottingham Building Society during this stage in its strategy and transformation journey, and I’m equally passionate about assisting more of our members on their homeownership aspirations!

“My experience spans across various stages on the mortgage product lifecycle, including leading specialist underwriting functions that are focused on driving efficiencies that deliver good customer outcomes. I’m looking forward to utilising my experiences to compliment the society, people and processes as it continues on its growth journey.”
