Mortgage Advice Bureau has strengthened its executive team with three senior appointments spanning marketing, finance, technology, data and change.
The changes come as MAB looks to broaden customer acquisition, increase customer lifetime value and make greater use of its proprietary platform, data and artificial intelligence across the group.
John Woods (pictured, centre) has been appointed group chief marketing officer, bringing experience from financial services, fintech and technology businesses.
His previous roles include senior positions at Barclays and CMC Markets, where he was involved in the firm’s digital transformation ahead of its FTSE 250 flotation. He subsequently led Samsung’s European digital operations and worked on Bain Capital’s separation and launch of payroll and HR technology provider Zellis.
Before joining MAB, Woods was a founding partner involved in the launch and early-stage growth of Zenus Bank, including its Series A funding.
FINANCE AND TECHNOLOGY CHANGES
Jo Stent has joined as group chief financial officer designate and is working alongside existing chief financial officer Emilie McCarthy ahead of McCarthy’s departure.
Stent (pictured, left) has more than 25 years’ experience in senior finance roles across listed, regulated and international businesses. Subject to completion of the transition process and regulatory approval, she is due to become group chief financial officer on 1 October 2026.
Renee Hunt has also joined MAB as group chief data and information officer, with responsibility for technology, product, data, AI, customer experience and change.
Hunt (pictured, right) has more than 30 years’ experience across financial services, media and telecoms. Her career includes management roles at Deloitte and a series of leadership positions at Sky, where she was part of the technical leadership team behind the launch of Sky Q and led digital teams supporting Sky News and Sky Sports.
Most recently, she was chief technology officer at Compare the Market. She also holds non-executive director positions at Nandos and the IoD.
Peter Brodnicki, chief executive, said: “These appointments reflect the continued investment we’re making in the leadership, capability, and focus needed to deliver our strategic ambitions.
“Additional senior appointments have also been in areas such as product, data, project management, and customer acquisition. The business can only be as ambitious and successful as the team responsible for delivery.
“We’re in a unique period which will see the intermediary sector transform, and I want to see MAB be at the forefront of that transformation.
“The new experience and ambition we’re bringing into MAB, combined with the incredible talent and work ethic we already have, will together deliver our strongest performance yet and at the pace required.”
