JLM raises over £2,500 for charities

JLM Giving, the charitable arm of JLM Mortgage Services, the mortgage and protection network, has raised over £2,500 with a ‘Cocktails & Swingers’ themed evening, following its quarterly conference for appointed representatives and advisers.

The mortgage conference, held at the Royal Society of Arts in London, offered delegates the opportunity to hear updates on JLM and the mortgage advice market from both JLM staff and lender representatives. Debates and training for advisers to develop their knowledge, or business, form a core part of the event.

Each conference is also designed to build and develop close personal relationships between those lenders present and the JLM mortgage consultants and AR firms.

During a break in the conference, JLM invited a number of ‘cocktail mixologists’ to provide drinks and refreshments to all attendees, providing the opportunity for both lender presenters and delegates to mingle.

After the conference event, JLM held a ‘Cocktails & Swingers’ evening at the Swingers Crazy Golf Club in Central London, supported by a number of lender partners as well as JLM staff, advisers and network member firms.

Teams of three competed to post the best scores on the crazy golf course with Together Mortgages being the main sponsor and other lenders, including Foundation Home Loans, Clydesdale, Family Building Society, and Secure Trust Bank, all providing a generous contribution.

JLM Giving is a year-long charity drive from JLM which currently supports three charities – Shelter, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and Cancer Research UK – with the money raised from the ‘Cocktails & Swingers’ evening, plus all other events, spread evenly between the three.

The charity initiative raises money through fundraising events and regular, voluntary contributions from network and staff members. JLM is proud to announce nearly £20,000 has been raised so far this year.

Rory Joseph (pictured), director of JLM Mortgage Services, added: “We try to do things a little differently at JLM and last month’s mortgage conference was no different; we use this as an opportunity for advisers to build their relationships with our lender partners, to learn more about their propositions and the mortgage market in general, but also to have some fun and raise some money for our JLM Giving charities as well.

“During the conference we had ‘Mixologists’ on hand to provide some much-needed cocktail artistry to the occasion and our ‘Cocktails & Swingers’ evening which followed – held as part of our JLM Giving initiative – was a real success. With some considerable support from lender sponsors, and all those who attended, we were able to raise over £2,500 for our three chosen charities.

“We’d like to thank all those who supported and attended the conference and the evening and we will continue to provide our member firms and advisers with a series of events that are worth their attendance, whilst at the same time helping raise further money for our charities.”

JLM Mortgage Services is an authorised network offering both experienced and new advisers and AR firms access to a range of mortgage lenders and protection providers, with a full range of services and complete compliance coverage.
