HSBC has appointed Paul Wood as senior corporate banking manager for the South West.

He will focus on the corporate market in the region, supporting businesses with a turnover in excess of £25 million.

Wood will report to Mark Bennett, head of the West and Wales Corporate Banking Centre and will be based at the Bank’s regional centre in Bristol.

Prior to joining HSBC, Wood spent 22 years with RBS and NatWest in a variety of roles including relationship management, business development and credit. The last 12 years were spent in structured finance, focusing initially on private equity, then the past three years heading up a team focussing on large corporate transactions across the South of England.

Wood said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a dedicated and industrious team and I’m looking forward to providing both new and existing customers in the South West with the support needed to achieve their domestic and international growth plans.
