Fleet Mortgages wins Hants employer award

Fleet Mortgages was named ‘Employer of the Year’ at the Inspire Business Awards on 10 November.

The awards celebrate the success of businesses in Hampshire. They are open to businesses from across the region, and ensure leading businesses gain the recognition they deserve for themselves and most importantly for the dedication and commitment of their staff.

The lender went through a rigorous nomination process, submitting its entry, being short-listed and then visited by the judging panel, which was comprised of business leaders and experts from across the region.

Fleet Mortgages won the award after being shortlisted alongside two other businesses, Tate and the Hampshire Court Hotel.

The Employer of the Year is given to the business that can best prove a genuine dedication to their workforce, over and above any statutory duty. It should be:

  • An organisation that can demonstrate dedication to development and training of workforce.
  • An organisation that can demonstrate commitment to the welfare of employees.
  • An organisation that can demonstrate commitment to creating a supportive business culture.
  • An organisation that can demonstrate a willingness to explore and provide benefits for staff.

Bob Young (pictured, CEO of Fleet Mortgages, said: “I’m obviously delighted, and very proud, that Fleet Mortgages has won the ‘Employer of the Year’ Award at the Inspire Business Awards 2016. It is a fantastic achievement for us all, with intense competition for the award, and I think shows exactly what we’ve achieved as a business together over the past two years since we were established.

“Given the relative infancy of our business, to receive recognition like this says a huge amount about the team we have assembled at Fleet. We have always prided ourselves on our ability to support and nurture staff, to ensure it’s a work environment that people can buy into in and excel in, and where they are rewarded for all their hard work.

“This award is the icing on the cake for 2016 and gives us all a real boost as we motor into 2017 and beyond.”
