The Monmouthshire appoints new BDM for south Wales

Monmouthshire Building Society has appointed Caroline Morgan as business development manager for south Wales, strengthening its intermediary support across the region.

Morgan (pictured), who is based in Bridgend, will work closely with mortgage brokers and intermediary partners, promoting the Society’s products and supporting new business activity.

She brings experience from across the financial services sector, having previously held roles at Principality Building Society, Loan.co.uk and Legal and General, before moving into education as a business development manager at Cardiff and Vale College.

During her time in education, Morgan maintained close links with the financial services sector, which ultimately led to her return to the industry.

She said: “Although I loved my work at the college, I really enjoyed partnering with the financial service companies we were engaged with.

“I found myself questioning whether that was where my true work passion was – and then I saw the role at Monmouthshire Building Society online and couldn’t resist going for it.”

Morgan said her focus will be on strengthening relationships with intermediary partners across south Wales.

She said: “What I love about being a BDM is getting to foster those personal relationships with our intermediary partners.

“To really get to know them, what drives them and what troubles them, and to do my best to work with them to get the best results for their clients.”

She added that service standards remain central to her approach in the role.

“I believe that service really is king in this industry and I treat people the way I want to be treated, and so I’m really looking forward to getting to know the local broker community.”

The appointment forms part of the Society’s ongoing focus on intermediary distribution and regional engagement.
