Leeds Building Society is to support the Breast Cancer Campaign by selling pink ribbon pin badges throughout October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

All of the Society’s 65 national branches will participate by offering the pink ribbons for a suggested donation of £1.

The mission of Breast Cancer Campaign is to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and accounts for nearly one in three of all cancers in women. One woman in nine will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and over 45,500 women will be diagnosed with the disease in the UK each year. Every year around 12,000 women will die from the disease.
