Target Group has appointed financial services veteran Paul Lynam as a non-executive director.

Lynam (pictured) has more than 35 years of experience in banking and financial services, including spells as chief executive of Equiniti Group and Secure Trust Bank.

He previously spent more than two decades at NatWest and RBS, where he led several business divisions through periods of growth and restructuring.

Lynam has also held a range of board and governance roles, alongside teaching, examining and other activities intended to support professional development in financial services.

Lynam said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of Target Group at such an exciting time for the business. Target has built a strong reputation across financial services, combining deep industry expertise with innovative technology and operational excellence.

“I look forward to working with the Board and leadership team to support the company’s continued growth and success.”

Shashi Bhat, chair of the board at Target Group, said: “Following a rigorous selection process and consideration of a number of outstanding candidates, the Board was unanimous in its view that Paul was the right person to join us.

“His extensive experience of scaling organisations, leading through transformation and operating across multiple markets will bring significant value to both the Board and the wider business.

“I look forward to working closely with Paul as we continue to build on Target’s success and deliver the next phase of our growth journey.”

Pete O’Connor, chief executive officer of Target Group, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Paul to the board. He brings a wealth of experience across financial services, a strong track record of leading organisations through change and growth, and valuable insight into the opportunities and challenges facing our sector.

“We look forward to benefiting from his expertise and perspective as we continue to deliver for our clients, colleagues and partners.”
