Record month for Just Mortgages’ self-employed division

Published on

Just Mortgages’ self-employed division has now hit 100 brokers, an increase of 23% since the end of last year.

The division, which was launched with three brokers in June 2016, also generated half a million pounds worth of income in March, 40% up on the previous month.

Last week, Just Mortgages held its second annual self-employed conference where more than 90 brokers gathered at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.

On the day of the conference, the self-employed division authorised its 100thself-employed broker and by next year’s conference expects to have well in excess of 150.

Carl Parker (pictured), director of business partnerships, said: “The self-employed division really has gone from strength to strength over the past few months. At the start of 2017 we had 13 brokers, by the end of the year it was up to 81 and less than four months later we are at 100.

“Last month I announced plans to take on another sales manager to maintain a good level of support for this growing number of self-employed brokers, and I am pleased to announce that I have now appointed Stuart Mitchell as our new divisional sales director to work alongside Rob Perrin in London and the south of England.

“Stuart brings with him almost 30 years of financial services experience, and was most recently executive sales manager at Countrywide, so I am delighted to have him on board.”

He added: “Many brokers want to go self-employed but are worried about losing that support so we have created a model that allows them to work for themselves, but be part of a wider network of support and it is proving very popular.

“We have grown our broker numbers seven-fold in just a 15 months and I plan to increase numbers by a further 50% by the end of this year, with a longer term goal of having over 250 self-employed brokers by 2020.”
