New roaming onsite underwriter at Fleet Mortgages

Fleet Mortgages has appointed a new onsite underwriter who will work across a range of South East and London-based specialist distributors and advisers.

Wayne Fitzpatrick has been appointed as Fleet’s roaming onsite underwriter after spending over a year as an underwriter within the head office.

Fitzpatrick (pictured) joined Fleet Mortgages in March 2018 and before this was an underwriter at Complete Cover Group.

He will be responsible for working across a number of specialist distribution firms, working in-house with them and providing access to underwriting expertise across Fleet’s range of products and criteria.

He will also work with Fleet’s London sales team, providing technical training and supporting their work with their advisory relationships in the region.

Steve Cox, distribution director at Fleet Mortgages, said: “Wayne has been a key part of the underwriting team at Fleet for over a year but as we have grown the number of packager and distributor relationships, we felt it was important to provide access to onsite underwriting expertise and therefore we have created the roaming onsite underwriter position.

“Our specialist distributor partners in London and the South East will now benefit from having access to Wayne so they can develop their understanding of Fleet’s criteria and product knowledge, having someone on hand to ensure they get the best support and resource for their buy-to-let cases.

“This is a new string to the Fleet bow as we continue to ramp up our increasing commitment to the specialist distributor sector.”
