MIMHC makes final call as charity lunch nears capacity

Published on

The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) has made a final call for industry support with just five tables remaining for its alcohol-free charity lunch next month.

Mortgageforce and Shawbrook Bank are the latest firms to back the event, which takes place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Friday 9 October.

MT Finance is Headline Sponsor, with Virgin Money; Nationwide; Pepper Money and London & Country Mortgages as Platinum Sponsors and Legal & General as Event Sponsor.

HSBC; Paragon; Nottingham Building Society; Landbay; Brightstar; Mortgage Advice Bureau; Together; Crystal Specialist Finance; Barclays and Skipton Building Society are among the other businesses supporting the event.

FIVE TABLES REMAIN

The lunch has been designed to demonstrate that a major mortgage industry event can combine networking, entertainment and hospitality without alcohol while putting mental health and wellbeing at its centre.

MIMHC co-founder Jason Berry said: “Seeing so many businesses from across our industry getting behind the lunch has been incredibly encouraging. Shawbrook and Mortgage Force are the latest to join us and we now have a fantastic room.

“But I would really love us to fill those final few tables.

“This isn’t simply about filling a room or raising money. Everything we generate helps MIMHC turn the findings from our industry research into practical action – from Mental Health First Aid training and wellbeing resources to initiatives that help people connect, talk and access support.

“We’ve deliberately created an alcohol-free event because we want to show that you can bring 300 people from our industry together, have a brilliant afternoon and still put wellbeing at the centre of it.

“So my message to any lender, broker, network or mortgage business still considering it is simple: please come and join us. Take one of the remaining tables, bring your colleagues or clients and help us demonstrate what our industry can achieve when it gets behind a common purpose.”

MENTAL HEALTH FOCUS

The afternoon will include a three-course lunch, networking, entertainment and fundraising alongside content focused on mental health and suicide prevention.

A celebrity guest will host the event, with Berry conducting a live Q&A with Alice Hendy MBE, founder of Ripple Suicide Prevention, and Mental Health First Aid instructor Sally Desborough, who has supported MIMHC‘s face-to-face training programme during 2026.

The event will conclude with further entertainment, an auction and networking.

The MIMHC Alcohol-Free Charity Lunch takes place from 1pm to 6pm on Friday 9 October at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
