L&G chief executive to retire at end of next year

Tim Breedon, group chief executive of Legal & General has told the board that he intends to retire at the end of 2012.

Breedon was appointed to the position of group chief executive on 1January 2006, having previously been group director (investments) and deputy group chief executive.
