HSBC UK raises residential and buy-to-let mortgage rates

Published on

HSBC UK is increasing rates across a range of residential and buy-to-let mortgages from Tuesday 21 July.

The changes affect two-year and five-year fixed-rate products for first-time buyers, home movers and remortgage customers.

Fee-saver and standard residential products are included at loan-to-value ratios ranging from 60% to 95%, depending on the product. High-value mortgage and Premier Exclusive rates will also rise at selected LTVs.

HSBC is also increasing rates on energy-efficient home products for properties with an EPC rating of A or B. The changes cover selected first-time buyer, home mover and remortgage deals.

In the buy-to-let range, rates will rise on selected two-year and five-year fee-saver, standard and Premier Exclusive remortgage products at LTVs of between 60% and 75%. This includes the lender’s standard product carrying a £3,999 fee.

Selected international residential and buy-to-let remortgage rates will also increase. HSBC said there were no further changes to its other interest rates at this time.

Premier mortgage rates are available only to existing HSBC Premier current account holders. Where the account has not been opened before an application is submitted, a product from the standard range must initially be selected.

Applications using existing product codes must be submitted in full by midnight on Monday 20 July.

HSBC’s product finder and mortgage sourcing systems will be updated on Tuesday 21 July.
