Family Building Society has appointed Laura Hamp as chief financial officer and a member of its board of directors.

Hamp (pictured) joined the society earlier this year from Furness Building Society, where she was also chief financial officer.

She has more than 15 years’ experience in financial services and has worked extensively within the mutual sector.

A qualified chartered accountant, Hamp is a Fellow of ICAS and was named CFO of the Year at the Women in Finance Awards 2023.

Hamp said: “I’m very pleased to have joined the Family and to continue my career in the mutual sector, which upholds the very best ethical standards in lending and savings, as well as reflecting the ethos that members of ICAS hold true.

“I am delighted to have been promoted to the board of the Society.”

Mark Bogard, chief executive of Family Building Society, added: “As part of our succession planning, Laura joined us at the start of the year and has seamlessly been promoted to the board. Her experience in the mutual sector makes her an ideal cfo for us.”
