Bridging Soup and Momenti Group have relaunched their Bridging Intelligence Initiative with a greater emphasis on understanding broker behaviour and improving communication between intermediaries and bridging lenders.
The revised programme follows feedback received since its initial announcement earlier this year, with brokers seeking more opportunities to influence lenders and more practical information about how lenders can support individual cases.
The 12-month initiative will combine broker research with content and engagement opportunities intended to strengthen relationships between lenders and intermediaries.
A central element of the research will examine lenders’ ‘mental availability’ — the likelihood of a broker considering a particular lender when a relevant financing requirement arises.
By investigating when and why brokers consider different lenders, the programme aims to give participating firms a clearer understanding of the factors influencing lender selection and how they can improve their position in the market.
Robin Hall, co-founder and director at Opus First Media, the publisher of Bridging Soup, said: “After we announced the Initiative earlier in the year, it became clear just how much brokers wanted their voice heard.
“But they also wanted lenders to talk to them differently – showing how they help, not just pushing product features.
“So, we took the decision to adapt it and build something that genuinely benefits both brokers and lenders.”
UNDERSTANDING LENDER SELECTION
The research will also consider how the bridging market differs from other lending sectors, particularly in relation to brand loyalty, professional relationships and the circumstances that prompt brokers to approach individual lenders.
Jeff Knight, director at Momenti Group, said: “The bridging market is different to every other sector. What drives lender choice is different.
“Brand loyalty is different. How you build mental availability is different.
“Relationships are everything. Through this Initiative, we’ll uncover insights that genuinely help lenders — and share findings that help brokers too.”
Lenders can participate through three partnership categories: Intelligence Partner, Growth Partner and Relationship Partner. Each combines broker research with opportunities to increase visibility and develop relationships within the intermediary market.
The initiative is intended to make research findings useful to both sides of the lending relationship, giving lenders greater insight into broker decision-making while providing intermediaries with information relevant to their clients’ financing requirements.
