Afin Bank has added L&C Mortgages to its broker panel as it looks to increase access to its specialist lending products for borrowers who fall outside mainstream criteria.
The lender, which specialises in serving customers who are often underserved by high street providers, will make its residential and buy-to-let mortgage range available to L&C advisers.
Afin supports a range of borrowers with more complex circumstances, including the self-employed, contract workers, those with complex income structures, high-net-worth individuals and foreign nationals with a UK work visa.
Rather than relying on automated affordability models, the lender individually underwrites each application and assesses borrowers on a case-by-case basis.

Anum Mahmood, national key account manager at Afin Bank, said: “We’re delighted to be working with L&C Mortgages, supporting its advisers and reaching even more borrowers struggling to get a mortgage because they don’t fit the tick box approach of many lenders.
“L&C will have full access to all our mortgages, from our core Prime range through to our propositions designed for the needs of people like qualified professionals and ‘asset rich’ income light’ high-net-worth borrowers.
“We look forward to building a strong partnership and helping deliver great outcomes for its customers.”
David Hollingworth (main picture), associate director, communications at L&C Mortgages, said the partnership would provide advisers with a broader range of options for clients with more complex borrowing requirements.
He added: “Our advisers are dealing with thousands of enquiries each month, so it‘s crucial that we have as wide a spread of lending solutions as possible for our customers.
“Afin Bank’s ability to take a more flexible and individualised approach will give more options for those with more complex needs, whether it’s high-net-worth, foreign nationals or professionals.
“We’re therefore delighted to partner with Afin Bank to boost the choices for those that may not fit the requirements of high street lenders.”
