Vida intermediary competition to ‘fly’ Concorde

Published on

Vida Homeloans is to hold an event for mortgage intermediaries at an air museum, situated in the middle of the Brooklands racing circuit in Weybridge.

The competition gives intermediaries the opportunity to pilot Concorde in the world’s only Concorde simulator, where they can take off, fly and land the iconic aircraft at four major airports – Hong Kong, Sydney, New York and of London Heathrow.

The Concorde Experience, on the 50th Anniversary since Concorde first took to the skies, also gives the winners and runners up the opportunity of a tour round the supersonic passenger airliner by ex-Concorde flight personnel.

To win a place at the event, intermediaries need to answer five multiple choice questions online. Entries with correct answers will be placed into the prize draw and eight lucky intermediaries will be selected at random to win the simulated flying experience, with 22 runners up invited to a VIP guided tour around the aircraft, followed by a virtual flight on Concorde.

Each guest will be sent a personalised Concorde Boarding Pass prior to the day itself.

Louisa Sedgwick (pictured), director of sales, mortgages at Vida Homeloans, said: “Concorde was an iconic brand, offering a specialist product, a world class service and unrivalled speed. At Vida we aim to emulate these same traits by offering unique propositions, a first-class service, and delivering speed and service through innovation.

“Vida’s head office is based close to Heathrow, so we also feel a local connection to Concorde’s origins.”

The winning intermediaries will also experience a pre-flight technical briefing and a chance to sit in the original Concorde seats. Guests will then experience a virtual flight, watching a short film introduced by ex-Concorde Chief Captain Mike Bannister, whilst being served with a glass of champagne by ex-Concorde stewards and stewardesses.

Sedgwick added: “At Vida, intermediaries are central to our business and we are continuously looking at ways to demonstrate our commitment to delivering the best possible solutions for them and their customers. That’s why we’ve planned this unique event, aiming to educate intermediaries on the specialist mortgage market and to give them a day they won’t forget.”
