Seven members of The Exeter’s distribution team will take on a 340-mile cycle from London to Paris in June, having already raised more than £23,000 for the insurer’s corporate charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
The challenge forms part of a wider programme of fundraising activity by the health and life insurer, reflecting its ongoing support for the charity’s work with people affected by cancer across the UK.
Colleagues have organised a series of initiatives in the run-up to the ride, including raffles and quiz nights, alongside securing donations from friends, family, colleagues and corporate partners.
The Exeter said the partnership aligns with its broader focus on supporting individuals in the event of ill health or injury, both through its products and its wider corporate activity.
The London to Paris cycle is one of several initiatives planned throughout the year, as the firm continues its fundraising efforts while maintaining its focus on advisers and members.
Jamie Page, head of protection distribution at The Exeter, said: “We’re incredibly proud of the team taking on this challenge. Cycling from London to Paris is no small feat, but the support we’ve received so far has been brilliant and keeps everyone motivated as the big day approaches.
“We’re especially grateful to our corporate partners from across the industry and everyone who has contributed to the fundraising efforts so far.
“Macmillan is a charity that means a great deal to so many people, and the work they do to support those living with cancer is invaluable. Being able to play a small part in that through this challenge is something we’re all very proud of.”
