The Buckinghamshire to host broker webinar on mortgage pricing

Published on

Buckinghamshire Building Society is hosting a broker webinar examining how building societies fund mortgages and what drives lender pricing decisions.

The event, titled Behind the Rates: How Building Societies Fund Mortgages, will take place on Thursday, 11 June at 11am.

It will be hosted by Claire Askham, head of mortgage sales at Buckinghamshire Building Society, who will lead a live Q&A interview with Scott Morton, finance director at the society.

The webinar is intended to give brokers a finance director’s view of the factors influencing mortgage pricing, including market movements, cost of funds and lender decision-making.

Topics due to be covered include what drives mortgage pricing day to day, why rates can change even when base rate remains unchanged, how swap rates and cost of funds work, and why products may be repriced or withdrawn quickly.

The session will also look at the strengths of the building society model in uncertain markets and the factors that could shape mortgage pricing over the next 12 months.

Buckinghamshire Building Society said the webinar would also include personal insights from Morton.
