Swansea Building Society has completed an anniversary charity fund with a £3,000 donation to YMCA Cardiff.
The £25,000 fund was established to mark Alun Williams’s 25 years as chief executive of the mutual.
It has provided £20,000 to Faith in Families and £2,000 to Llys Nini, alongside the final award to YMCA Cardiff.
YMCA Cardiff has supported young people and communities in the Welsh capital for more than 170 years. Its services include accommodation and support for young people experiencing homelessness, wellbeing initiatives, education, training, youth work and community programmes.
Williams (pictured) said: “When we established this £25,000 fund, we wanted it to celebrate not just my 25 years with the Society, but the values that have always been at the heart of Swansea Building Society – supporting the communities we serve and helping organisations that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
“YMCA Cardiff has an outstanding reputation for providing practical support, opportunities and hope to people facing difficult circumstances. The work it carries out every day transforms lives, and we are delighted to be able to support the charity through this final donation from the anniversary fund.
“It has been a privilege to see this fund benefit three outstanding charities, each making an incredible contribution in very different ways, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped make these donations possible.”

The fund was created after Williams became the longest-serving chief executive of a UK building society, having completed 25 years in the role.
It is separate from Swansea Building Society’s continuing community and charitable programme, which includes its partnership with Prostate Cymru as the mutual’s official charity partner for 2026.
