Standard Life International appoints new chairman

Standard Life International Limited has announced the appointment of Colm Fagan as its new chairman.

He was appointed to the board of Standard Life International in June 2008.

Fagan also serves as a director of international insurance/reinsurance subsidiaries of Hartford Financial (US), SEB (Sweden), Hannover Re (Germany) and Axa Group (France).

Prior to joining the board of Standard Life International, Fagan was founder and chairman of Life Strategies, a firm of actuarial advisers in the cross-border life insurance sector.

Nigel Dunne, chief executive of Standard Life International, said: “Colm brings a wealth of skills and extensive experience to his chairmanship and clearly understands the markets we operate in. We have ambitious plans to grow our international business significantly from its Dublin base
