SortRefer launches snagging reports service for new-build buyers

SortRefer has launched a snagging reports service to help brokers support clients buying new-build homes.

The online panel manager has partnered with The Professional Snagging Company to provide independent inspections for buyers of new-build properties across England, Wales and parts of Scotland.

The service is available through the SortRefer platform and is intended to help identify defects early in the homebuying process, while also creating an additional referral opportunity for introducers.

SortRefer said quotations can be generated quickly through its platform, with the option for them to be sent directly to clients. Once instructed, The Professional Snagging Company contacts the client directly to arrange an appointment.

The report is then supplied directly to the client within 48 hours of inspection.

The snagging inspection covers areas including paintwork, plastering, joinery, doors, finishes, kitchens, bathrooms, fittings, appliances, plumbing, heating, electrics, lighting, windows, ventilation, locks, sealants, brickwork, roofing, drainage, gutters, paths, driveways, fencing and landscaping.

Kevin Tunnicliffe, chief executive of Sort Group, said: “We’re delighted to introduce Snagging Reports to our growing range of services. Purchasing a new-build home should be an exciting experience, but defects and unfinished work can quickly create frustration and stress for buyers.

“By partnering with The Professional Snagging Company, we’re giving brokers another valuable service to offer clients, while helping homeowners move into their new property with greater confidence and peace of mind.”

Andrew Sadler, business manager at SortRefer, added: “We’re always looking to work with trusted partners to deliver value to our introducers and their clients. Our partnership with The Professional Snagging Company allows us to offer a high-quality, professional service that supports buyers through an important stage of the new-build journey.”

The launch forms part of SortRefer’s wider move to expand its range of value-added services for brokers and their clients during the property journey.

Phil Lucas, managing director for The Professional Snagging Company, said: “Partnering with SortRefer is a natural fit for The Professional Snagging Company. Buying a new-build home is a major investment, and an independent snagging inspection gives buyers reassurance and clarity at a critical stage of the process.

“We’re pleased to be working with SortRefer to help introducers offer added value through a trusted, professional service.”
