“When offering clients products for borrowers who are approaching, or in, retirement, the choices narrow,” said Martin Reynolds (pictured), SimplyBiz Mortgages’ chief executive.

“These new products will allow members of SimplyBiz Mortgages greater choice, and the ability to offer positive solutions to an underserved market. Marsden have a strong reputation in this field and these products will further enhance this.”

Heather Crinion, general manager at Marsden Building Society, added: “We’re delighted to be joining with SimplyBiz to offer an exclusive range of older borrower products. The products, released this week, offer a lending solution for borrowers aged 55-85 looking for access to a mortgage. Our teams individually underwrite each case, ensuring a common sense approach is taken, and taking a range of criteria into consideration, including earned income up to the age of 75.

“We also encourage advisers to get in touch should they be facing any difficulties placing a case for an older borrower, we will always try our best for intermediaries and their clients if the case is good.”
