SimplyBiz Group has announced the appointment of Tim Trotter as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

Trotter has been working with the group as a senior adviser over the past six months, including during the firm’s recent acquisition of Staffcare.

He is currently chairman of Glenfern, Alpha FMC, Seven Publishing, The SR Group; a senior adviser to DAC Beachcroft, Baird Capital Partners Europe and Evercore Partners and a co-founder of Citywire.

Prior to this, Trotter was the founder, chairman and chief executive of Ludgate Group, the international public and investor relations consultancy.

Ken Davy, chairman of the SimplyBiz Group, said: “Tim brings a wealth of experience, enthusiasm and ideas to the Board, which will prove hugely beneficial as we continue to assist the firms we serve to maximize the opportunities in a changing market.

“His values and vision are strongly aligned with those of the Group and I look forward to building upon the work we have already begun during his time acting in an advisory capacity.”

Trotter added: “I have long been impressed by the size and strength of SimplyBiz and its position as a leading player in the financial services market. The recent acquisition of Staffcare has further enhanced the group’s potential, adding to the range of services provided.

“I am pleased to be joining the Board and working closely with the team to develop the SimplyBiz offering whilst maintaining the firm’s long-held business principles.”
