Prestige Underwriting has joined Source Insurance’s landlord panel as the first underwriter of its 5-Star Defaqto-rated Residential Landlord Insurance product.
The agreement will give mortgage and insurance advisers access to broader cover for residential landlords as the private rented sector prepares for changes under the Renters’ Rights Act.
It is the first common-worded product on the Source landlord panel, giving advisers consistent core policy wording for clients with differing property and protection requirements.
The product includes legal expenses cover as standard, while rent guarantee cover is available as an optional addition.
Prestige Underwriting, a managing general agent specialising in non-standard home insurance, has been a member of Source’s household insurance panel since November 2023.
Jonathan Pinkerton, insurer relationship and finance director at Source, said: “This marks a further strengthening of our ongoing relationship with Prestige Underwriting, who have been a valued partner on our Household Insurance panel since November 2023.
“We are delighted to expand that partnership into the landlord sector, particularly at a time when landlords across the UK need access to high-quality, flexible insurance solutions more than ever.”
Tim Baxter, business development and relationship director at Prestige Underwriting, added: “Source understands the needs of advisers and has created a straightforward way for them to access a product that combines comprehensive core cover with the flexibility to meet different landlord requirements.
“Prestige has always believed that partnership is the best policy. Working closely with Source allows us to combine our specialist property underwriting expertise with its strong adviser relationships, helping more landlords access cover that meets their needs.”
