Pivotal linked to Beneficial Network deal

Published on

LSL Property Services is understood to have agreed a deal involving Beneficial mortgage network through Pivotal Growth, its joint venture with Pollen Street Capital.

Mortgage Soup understands that Beneficial’s appointed representative firms are being offered terms to transfer to Pivotal’s regulatory network following its closure last week.

ARs that do not accept the proposed transfer have reportedly been warned that their existing business pipeline could be frozen.

Neither the completion nor the structure of the transaction has been publicly confirmed, and it remains unclear whether the agreement covers Beneficial Ltd, its operating assets or its appointed representative relationships.

ARs OFFERED TRANSFER TERMS

Sources familiar with the discussions said affected firms had been presented with terms for joining Pivotal Financial Limited, the FCA-authorised business at the centre of Pivotal’s regulated mortgage and protection operations.

It is not yet clear what a pipeline freeze would mean for applications already submitted, procuration fees awaiting payment or customers whose cases have not completed.

Beneficial Ltd remains authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 736655 and is still registered as an active company at Companies House.

Its recorded controlling entity remains Beneficial Holdings Ltd. The holding company’s confirmation statement filed on 4 August does not identify LSL, Pivotal Growth or Pollen Street Capital as a shareholder.

Beneficial operated an adviser model charging a flat monthly fee allowing its members to keep 100% commission earnings on mortgages, protection and GI.

Prior to closing, the network had experienced mixed sentiment online, with some industry discussions pointing to historical complaints regarding commission payouts or lender panel adjustments.

PIVOTAL EXPANDS REGULATORY PLATFORM

Pivotal Growth is jointly owned by LSL and Pollen Street Capital and has acquired a series of mortgage and protection businesses since launching in 2021.

In June, it positioned Pivotal Financial Limited as the regulated centre of its advisory operations and the governance framework for its appointed representative businesses.

FCA figures published in January 2025 showed Beneficial responsible for 71 appointed representatives.

Pivotal Growth and Beneficial have been contacted for comment.
