NPTN by LMS will bring together senior property industry figures for a live webinar examining the growing number of market reform initiatives and how they fit together.
Property Market Reform: Making Sense of the Moving Parts will consider how organisations including the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, the Open Property Data Association, the Digital Property Market Steering Group and the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology are working towards a data-led property market.
The government’s reform roadmap envisages a market in which trusted information can be shared among lenders, conveyancers, estate agents and other parties, reducing duplication and delays while improving the experience for consumers.
NPTN by LMS, an open, real-time network for home buying and selling, said the industry needed to understand the purpose of each initiative, how the programmes connected and where responsibilities sat.
The webinar will also examine how stakeholders should prioritise their engagement over the next six – 12 months and what action they can take now.
The panel will comprise Travis Scholes, commercial director at LMS; Maria Harris, chair of the Open Property Data Association; Leon Ifayemi, director of coalitions and research at the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology; and Beth Rudolf, director of delivery at the Conveyancing Association.
Scholes said: “There’s a lot of important progress happening across the industry, but from the outside, it can be hard to understand how all the moving parts fit together.
“We wanted to bring some of the key industry voices driving this discussion into one room, not to add another initiative to the pile, but to help the industry see the whole picture – who’s doing what, why it matters, and how stakeholders can take action now.
“The more we can connect these conversations across the industry, the better placed we’ll be to turn good ideas and individual initiatives into meaningful progress.”
The session will address what is changing across the property market, how the initiatives and working groups fit together, and which developments matter most for lenders, conveyancers and estate agents.
It will also consider what stakeholders should prioritise during the next six – 12 months and how the industry can remain involved as the market evolves. A live audience question-and-answer session will follow the panel discussion.
Property Market Reform: Making Sense of the Moving Parts will take place on Thursday 17 September from 2pm to 3pm. Registration is available here.
