Conveyancing provider Nova has appointed Andrew Smith as commercial director as it seeks to expand its relationships with estate agents and mortgage brokers.

Smith (pictured) has more than 20 years of experience in commercial leadership and business development across the property and technology sectors.

He spent more than a decade at CoStar Group and has also held senior positions at Nordic property technology and financial technology business Navian Group. He most recently worked at Property Finder in the UAE.

Smith will lead Nova’s commercial strategy, working with estate agents, mortgage brokers and other introducers. His responsibilities will include developing strategic partnerships, strengthening existing relationships and establishing the commercial processes needed to support the company’s growth.

David Jabbari, founder and chief executive of Nova, said: “Andrew’s appointment marks an important step for Nova as we continue to scale the business and strengthen our presence across the property sector.

“He brings a wealth of commercial experience, a deep understanding of the property market, and a strong track record of building high-performing partnerships.

“At Nova, strong relationships and exceptional service have always been at the heart of what we do. As demand for high-quality conveyancing partnerships continues to grow, Andrew’s experience and approach will help us build even stronger relationships with agents and brokers while continuing to enhance the service we provide.

“We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”

Smith said: “I’m delighted to be joining Nova at such an exciting stage in its growth journey. The opportunity to help build a market-leading proposition was a major attraction, alongside the chance to work with such an experienced team that has a clear vision for growth.

“Property is ultimately a people business. Strong partnerships, trust, and communication are critical to success, and I’m looking forward to working closely with our partners and the wider Nova team as we continue to grow.”
