Nivo takes AI broker roundtable series to Manchester

Nivo is bringing the latest event in its broker roundtable series to Manchester next month as it looks to help advisers better understand the practical application of artificial intelligence.

The technology firm, which develops AI agents for lenders and brokers, has confirmed that its next broker roundtable dinner will take place at The Ivy Asia in Manchester on 10 July.

The event forms part of a nationwide programme of small-scale broker gatherings launched earlier this year. The latest dinner follows a recent event in Birmingham, held ahead of the NACFB Commercial Finance Expo in June.

Returning the series to Nivo’s home city, the Manchester event will bring together a select group of brokers to discuss how artificial intelligence can be implemented within advisory businesses.

The company said the aim is to move beyond industry speculation and provide a practical discussion around where AI can add value, where its limitations lie and how firms can begin adopting the technology. Attendees will also hear insights from live projects currently being undertaken by Nivo.

Matthew Elliott, co-founder and chief commercial officer at Nivo, said: “For brokers, the AI question has changed, from whether it matters to where to start, and how to avoid wasting time on tools that don’t solve the real problem.

“Most firms start with the technology (demos, feature comparisons, vendor calls) before they’ve defined what they actually need AI to do. That’s the wrong way round. The better starting point is operational. Where are advisers and admins losing time and where do cases stall?

“We’ve found that, in broking, it’s the same pattern every time: gather, check, chase. Gather the documents, check they’re complete, chase what’s missing, then repeat when something else isn’t quite right. That cycle slows cases, frustrates clients, and pulls brokers away from advising.

“Modern agentic AI isn’t another piece of task software, it’s closer to bringing a new administrator into the business. You don’t tell a new hire to ‘press a button’. You give them the outcome, the standards, the client context, and when to escalate. AI is most useful when you think about it the same way.

“You’re ready for AI if you are able and willing to document the inputs, middle and outcome.”

Nivo said interest in the roundtable series has increased as it has visited different regions of the UK, with the events providing brokers with an opportunity to discuss challenges and experiences with peers in an informal environment.

The company has also confirmed plans to expand the format through a series of webinars, allowing brokers unable to attend the in-person events to take part in future discussions.

Places at the Manchester dinner are limited, with brokers able to register their interest directly with Nivo.
