New MD for Abbey for Intermediaries

Abbey for Intermediaries has appointed Miguel Sard as its new managing director.

He has been with Santander UK since 2007 and takes over from Alan Mathewson.

He will report to Charlotte Hogg, the new head of retail distribution and intermediaries at Santander.

Sard was previously CEO of Santander Insurance Services in the UK.

Mathewson continues to assume interim management responsibility for Santander’s branch network, agencies, and telephone distribution, and will be taking on a “broader role”” in the UK’s retail distribution business with the arrival of Charlotte Hogg in the summer
