Canada Life has appointed Jon Dunckley to the new role of proposition development manager for home finance.

Dunckley (pictured) has over 20 years’ experience in senior technical, training and consulting roles across the financial services arena. He has recently worked with the Equity Release Council on the development of its Competency Framework, and has delivered a series of adviser training workshops in partnership with Canada Life.

In his new position he will focus on understanding how property wealth can become part of a broader retirement income proposition.

Tom Evans, managing director, home finance, Canada Life, said: “The retirement market is constantly evolving and I’m thrilled to welcome Jon to the firm today to help us develop the best solutions for the next generation of retirees.

“Homeowners across the country are looking for flexibility and certainty when it comes to planning for retirement, and for many a large proportion of their wealth is tied up in their home. As people seek to maintain living standards for increasingly long retirements, Jon’s arrival will help us continue to meet real customer needs.”

Dunckley added: “I’m very excited to be joining Canada Life and its industry leading home finance team. It’s vital that providers and advisers recognise the role that property wealth can play in modern retirement journeys and I’m thrilled to lead on developing this integration.”
