Iress event to seek to redefine the future of protection

Industry leaders from across the protection sector have been invited gather in London later this month for an event designed to challenge convention and explore the future of underwriting, technology and consumer engagement.

The latest in Iress’ ongoing series of collaboration forums, Beyond Protection will take place at the AWS Experience Centre in London on 25 June 2025. It marks the sixth instalment of the firm’s protection-focused events and promises to be a catalyst for innovation and cross-industry dialogue.

According to Iress, the aim is to reimagine a more connected and client-focused future for the protection industry, bringing together advisers, insurers and technology specialists for a day of insight and open discussion.

Confirmed speakers include Vicky Churcher from the Income Protection Task Force (IPTF), who will share her perspective on shifting market dynamics and evolving consumer needs. Amazon Web Services will explore the role of artificial intelligence in transforming the protection landscape, while Helen Croft, head of life and health underwriting at SCOR, will offer her vision of how emerging technologies are reshaping traditional approaches to risk assessment.

The programme also includes a live debate on the future of underwriting, with active participation encouraged from attendees. The day will conclude with dinner and drinks, offering further opportunity for informal collaboration and networking.

Jennifer Rafferty, managing director – sourcing at Iress, said the forum represents a continuation of the firm’s long-standing commitment to co-designing solutions with its clients.

“This forum isn’t just about showcasing what we’ve done, it’s about working side by side with the industry to shape what comes next,” she said. “Beyond Protection reflects our commitment to co-designing solutions with our clients that deliver meaningful outcomes for advisers and consumers. Some of our most impactful developments, like our integration with CIExpert, evolved from discussions at our forums and we’re excited to see what emerges from this one.”
