HSBC UK, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay and top broker firms Mortgage Advice Bureau and L&C Mortgages are among the first organisations to commit their support to this year’s Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) Lunch.
The flagship wellbeing event will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on Friday 9 October and is expected to bring together lenders, distributors, brokers, networks and industry partners to promote mental health and wellbeing across the mortgage and specialist finance sector.
The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter said the growing list of supporters reflects the industry’s continued commitment to improving workplace wellbeing and tackling the stigma surrounding mental health.
Since launching in 2021, the Charter has grown to more than 400 signatory organisations, representing over 30,000 people working throughout the mortgage industry.
Funds raised through the event will support the work of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC, helping to deliver Mental Health First Aid training, educational initiatives and preventative wellbeing support across the sector.
LASTING CHANGE
Jason Berry (main picture), co-founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter and group sales director at Crystal Specialist Finance, said: “It’s incredibly encouraging to see so many respected organisations committing their support so early in our process.
“Their involvement demonstrates that mental health and wellbeing are no longer viewed as optional initiatives but as fundamental elements of building successful, sustainable businesses.
“Every organisation supporting this event is helping us create lasting change across our industry.
“Together we’re investing in healthier workplaces, stronger leadership and ensuring more people know that support is available whenever they need it.”
INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT
The alcohol-free lunch has become one of the sector’s leading wellbeing events, providing an inclusive environment focused on discussion around leadership, workplace wellbeing and practical steps firms can take to better support employees.
With a number of sponsorship opportunities already secured, MIMHC is encouraging more organisations to support the initiative alongside the lenders, networks and distributors already committed.

Will Lloyd (pictured above speaking at last year’s event), co-founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter and group chief operating officer at Brightstar Financial and Sirius, said: “The momentum behind this year’s lunch reflects just how far we’ve come as an industry.
“I’m hugely grateful to HSBC, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay, MAB and L&C for leading the way.
“Their support sends a powerful message that together we can continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health while creating workplaces where people can genuinely thrive.”
The event will take place on Friday 9 October at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London, with proceeds supporting the ongoing work of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC.
