Industry fantasy football league to raise funds for mental health charter

Mortgage and property finance professionals are being invited to join an industry-wide Fantasy Premier League competition raising money for the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter.

The league, which will run during the 2026/27 season, is being organised by JammJar, an AI-based operating system for mortgage advisers.

It is open to brokers, lenders, networks, clubs, packagers, conveyancers, surveyors and suppliers. Entry requires a minimum donation of £10, although participants may contribute more.

Entries close at 6.30pm on Friday 21 August, coinciding with the Gameweek 1 deadline.

Mortgage Advice Bureau is sponsoring the top prize of two tickets to watch an England men’s home international from Club Wembley. The prize will go to the participant who finishes at the top of the table.

JammJar is funding additional cash prizes of £200 for the winner, £200 for the runner-up and £100 for third place.

As the prizes are being funded separately, all entry money will be collected on behalf of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter.

The not-for-profit foundation was established in 2021 to improve mental health and wellbeing across the mortgage and property finance industry. More than 400 firms, representing over 30,000 people, have signed the charter.

Karl Griffin, chief executive and co-founder of JammJar, said: “This industry is competitive, opinionated and about four degrees of separation from top to bottom, which makes it almost perfectly designed for a fantasy football league. We wanted to point that energy at something useful and the MIMHC was the obvious choice.

“It does fantastic work in raising awareness and providing importance guidance that helps people in the mortgage industry to take better care of their mental health. So, we’ve created a league with some excellent prizes, but where every penny raised from entry fees goes straight to the charity.”

Jason Berry, co-founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter, said: “It’s brilliant to see JammJar and Mortgage Advice Bureau come together behind an initiative that combines a bit of healthy industry competition with a cause that matters to all of us.”

“One of the things we continually champion through MIMHC is the importance of connection. Fantasy football creates conversation, friendly rivalry and a reason for people right across our industry to engage with each other, while raising funds that will be reinvested into improving mental health and wellbeing support.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to JammJar and MAB for their generosity in funding the prizes separately, meaning every pound donated through entry goes to MIMHC. I’d love to see hundreds of people across the mortgage industry get involved, have some fun and help us make a difference at the same time.”

Firms are also being encouraged to establish mini-leagues within the main competition, allowing colleagues to compete internally while remaining on the industry-wide leaderboard.

The leaderboard will be published at fpl.jammjar.com and updated after each gameweek. Entries are now open through the same website.
