Gen H has appointed Laz Doel as key account manager in a newly created position aimed at developing the lender’s relationships with key broker firms.
Doel (pictured) will report to Paddy Doyle, corporate account lead at Gen H, as the lender looks to strengthen its engagement with intermediary partners.
He joins from mortgage and protection advice firm Moneysprite, where he spent 10 years as a mortgage and protection broker.
During his time at Moneysprite, Doel advised clients on residential mortgages, remortgages and protection, giving him direct experience of the requirements brokers place on lenders.
Gen H said his broking background would help inform its approach to service and support for key accounts as the lender continues to expand its intermediary relationships.
Sara Palmer, chief distribution officer at Gen H, said: “Laz brings over a decade of invaluable hands-on broking experience to this role, and that perspective is exactly what our key broker partners will value.
“As we continue to grow, having someone who has sat on the other side of the desk will mean we have a better grasp of the broker experience than ever before.
“We are thrilled to have Laz join us.”
Doel added: “Having spent so much of my career advising clients directly, I know how much a lender’s support can shape a broker’s ability to create the best possible outcomes for their clients.
“I’m looking forward to building on the relationships Gen H already has with its key partners and making sure they get the service and access they need.”
