Thirty-five colleagues from Foundation Home Loans and Catalyst have completed the Snowdon Challenge to raise almost £10,000 for youth homelessness charity Centrepoint.
The intermediary-only specialist lender’s ‘Peak for Purpose’ challenge saw all 35 participants reach the summit of Yr Wyddfa, or Snowdon, despite rain, fog and strong winds.
The climb marks the second year of Foundation’s partnership with Centrepoint, which supports young people experiencing homelessness through accommodation, counselling, education and employment opportunities.
The challenge was launched with a £10,000 fundraising target, which the team is now close to reaching.
‘A NATURAL FIT’

Pete Ball, chief executive of Foundation, said: “At Foundation, our purpose is to enable home and property ambitions for everyone, which is why our partnership with Centrepoint is such a natural fit.
“We’re proud to be supporting their vital work for a second year and helping young people access the safety, stability and opportunities they deserve.
“Seeing colleagues come together to take on the Snowdon Challenge has been a fantastic example of that commitment in action while continuing to make mortgages happen.”

Sabrina Hunte, ESG programme lead at Foundation, added: “Peak for Purpose has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved when colleagues come together behind a shared cause.
“The determination, support and teamwork shown throughout the climb were incredible to see, and we’re delighted to have already raised almost all of our £10,000 target.
“Every pound raised will help Centrepoint continue its vital work supporting young people facing homelessness.
“Despite challenging conditions, including rain, fog and strong winds, all 35 participants completed the climb, demonstrating the teamwork and resilience that underpinned the fundraising effort.”
£40,000 RAISED FOR CENTREPOINT

Mopani Mkandawire, internal communications manager at Foundation, said: “The biggest highlight of the challenge was the teamwork.
“Everyone looked out for one another throughout the day, whether that was offering encouragement on the tougher sections or simply checking in on colleagues along the way.
“It was a challenging but hugely rewarding experience and a great opportunity to come together in support of Centrepoint and the young people they help every day.”
The challenge forms part of Foundation’s wider community investment programme.
Over the past year, the business has raised more than £40,000 for Centrepoint, supported more than 24 charities, contributed 260 volunteering days and invested £106,447 in community initiatives.
