Family Building Society has appointed Kirsty Dancer as business development manager for the East and West Midlands.

Dancer (pictured) joins from Vitality Life and Health, where she was also a business development manager.

She has about 20 years of experience in financial services, beginning her banking career at NatWest, where she spent a decade in roles spanning customer service and lending.

Dancer later moved into the intermediary sector, joining Grange Mortgage and Protection Services and then Just Mortgages before becoming a senior mortgage adviser at Coventry Building Society.

Darren Deacon, head of intermediary sales at Family Building Society, said: “We’re delighted that Kirsty has joined us, bringing with her a wealth of financial services experience.

“I know that she feels passionately about the mortgage market and brings added energy and dynamism to our award-winning team of BDMs”.

Dancer said: “Although I thoroughly enjoyed helping advisers develop their protection propositions at Vitality. I quickly realised that the fast-paced, relationship-driven nature of the mortgage industry was where I truly belonged.

“Joining the Family felt like a natural next step, offering the opportunity to combine my experience, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting intermediaries and their clients in a business that shares my values and ambitions for growth”.

Outside work, Dancer has an interest in interiors, antiques and second-hand shopping. She said: “I enjoy discovering unique pieces with a story behind them and finding creative ways to bring them into my home.”
