Building Societies Show donates to MIMHC

The Building Societies Show 2026 has donated £1,250 of profit from its inaugural event to the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter.

The broker-focused event, held at Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday 21 April 2026, brought together 36 building societies under one roof.

The show was supported by headline sponsors One Mortgage System, Mortgage Brain and Knowledge Bank, and attracted more than 500 brokers during the day.

The organisers said the donation reflected the show’s commitment, and that of the wider building society sector, to mental health and welfare across the mortgage industry.

Jason Berry, co-founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter, said: “A huge thank you to the organisers of the recent Building Societies Show for recognising the valuable work of The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter and supporting our MIMHC Walk & Talk 2026 initiative as the show’s chosen charity/foundation.

“The generous £1,250 donation is warmly received and genuinely appreciated. With a few final commitments still to come in, we are extremely confident that our original £20,000 fundraising target will be comfortably surpassed.

“Congratulations also to Rob and the team behind the event itself. The show was exceptionally well attended, delivered excellent content throughout, and created a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day.”

Rob Oliver, distribution director at Dudley Building Society and chairman of the BSA Distribution Group, added: “The Building Society Show represented something genuinely different and the response from brokers was astounding with large queues forming before we’d even opened the event.

“The event and our subsequent donation of our profit to MIMHC demonstrates mutuality perfectly and affirms its relevance to borrowers and brokers in 2026.”

The Building Society Show 2027 will take place at Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday 20 April 2027.
