Leeds-based Blacks Solicitors won a major accolade at the Yorkshire Legal Awards.

The firm won the ‘Residential Property Award’ with David Gilman (pictured), partner in charge of Blacks Connect, collecting the prize at the recent ceremony held at the New Dock Hall in Leeds.

Blacks was singled out for its commitment to residential conveyancing, the processes it uses and the quality of its service. In particular the success of the Blacks Connect proposition was highlighted which was developed exclusively for use by brokers.

Gilman said: “It’s obviously very pleasing to be recognised for the quality of your proposition and the service you provide, especially when it’s in your own backyard. To pick up the ‘Residential Property Award’ is testament to the hard work of everyone at Blacks – were it not for their dedication and commitment we would certainly not be in the position we are today.

“Blacks’ conveyancing operation continues to go from strength to strength, particularly our broker-focused business. This is why we continue to look at ways to help brokers offer conveyancing advice, whilst making it as simple and easy to deliver as possible. It is this reasoning that brought about the recent launch of Blacks Affinity into IRESS Trigold Prospector – it requires no further keying in of information by users in order to secure a quote, which can be secured with a click of a button.

“We will continue to develop our offering to brokers and seek to support their businesses over the months and years ahead, and we certainly aim to be in the awards frame again at the same time next year.”
