Barclays appoints vice chairman

Barclays plc has appointed Naguib Kheraj as vice chairman, Barclays Bank.

Kheraj will be a senior adviser on a range of commercial and policy matters to chief executive Bob Diamond and group finance director Chris Lucas as well as other members of management across Barclays global operations.

He will dedicate approximately 30% of his time to this role he has significant charitable interests and will be spending the majority of his time focused on these activities. Kheraj will not be appointed to the Boards of Barclays Plc or Barclays Bank Plc.
